| Poker King - Best Online Poker Strategy - Poker Strategy |
Poker isn’t just a game of
chance and luck. While it’s absolutely true these things
do come into play, there’s a level of skill involved in
becoming a good poker player. With this in mind, it
doesn’t matter whether the game is Black Jack, Texas
Hold ‘Em or 7-Card Stud, some simple poker strategy can
go along way toward helping a player become a winner. It
won’t guarantee a win every time, but it can up the odds
in a player’s favor.
The game of poker is more about skill than most gambling
games. Chance is certainly still a major factor but you
won't win by chance alone. Without a good grasp of basic
poker strategy you won't do well against experienced
players.
One of the most important things to remember when player
poker is that your strategy should be to win as much and
lose as little as possible on each hand, not to get the
best hand. You're in the game to win money, not pots.
Any player can win a pot. Just play every hand and call
every bet until the bitter end, and you'll win every pot
you possibly can. But you'll lose a ton of money in the
process. The top poker players play few hands and
maximize their return when the odds are in their favor.
Poker is a complicated game but a few simple guidelines
go far in preventing beginner mistakes. For now keep
these ideas in mind:
- Be patient. Fold early and often. Top
Hold'em players
might fold 80% of their hands before the flop. The idea
is to only play when you have an advantage.
- Be aggressive. Don't be afraid to raise. The fewer
opponents that are in the pot with you, the more
inclined you should be to raise instead of call.
- Know when you're beat. Okay, so you started with a
strong hand and have been doing a lot of raising. But
now this other guy just won't quit re raising you and
your hand hasn't improved. Well, it may be time to give
up. Don't be afraid to fold when you know you're beat.
- Keep an eye on the pot. The smaller the pot is, the
stronger your hand needs to be to continue. Even a good
draw in a tiny pot is not worth the cost.
- Get inside your opponent's head. What do you think he
has? What do you think he thinks you have? What does he
think you think he has? If you can outsmart your
opponent on this level, you have the advantage. But it
takes practice.
