Poker King - Best Online Poker Games - Play 7 Card Stud Poker Online
For decades, Seven-Card Stud poker was the most popular variation of the game around the world. It was only with the rapid growth of televised Texas Hold ‘em poker games that Seven-Card Stud lost the top spot. However, Stud Poker is still the game of choice in many locations, particularly on the East Coast of America and in many European cities. This is likely because there are so many interesting variations of the basic Stud Poker game, particularly when it comes to wild cards.

How to Play Seven Card Stud
In order to play Seven Card Stud, each player receives two cards that are face down as well as one card that is dealt face up. Each player than places a bet paced upon the cards that he or she has received, with the person with the highest card placing his or her bid first. The bidding then moves around the table in a clockwise fashion.

Each player is dealt two cards down and one up, (the up card is referred to as a 'door card'). The low card - designated in alphabetical order, by suit - clubs, diamonds, hearts, spades - starts the action with a 'bring-in' bet. The amount of the bring-in bet is set by the game limit.

The game follows the regular game of 7-card stud in that the player is dealt two “down” cards called ‘hole’ cards (also called pocket cards) and one card up which is called the ‘door’ card. As the rounds of betting begin and end, the dealer will then deal three more “up” cards and one more card “face-down”.

The first 4 cards are the most important in seven card stud poker. If they develop according to plan you have a big chance to win, if not you better give up at the early stages so you can escape some expensive experiences.

Always try to be looking for reasons to fold your hands. Closely watch out for dead cards in the denomination you need or multiple dead cards in the suit that you are drawing to. Never overestimate your cards and always keep in mind that your opponents may be developing strong hands too! Once you have analyzed the game in details and you are sure there aren’t reasons for you to fold then you proceed aggressively.
